Life and Chemical Sciences Manufacturing Strategy

Launched in 2015, the Life and Chemical Sciences Manufacturing Strategy by the industry leadership groups of both Life Sciences Scotland and Chemical Sciences Scotland. It is a supplementary document to both sectors’ strategies with the objective to substantially increase Scotland’s manufacturing base over the period, and set out the steps as to how this might be achieved. These objectives dovetail with the Sustainable Production theme of the recently launched Life Sciences Strategy for Scotland – 2025 Vision.

The action plan has been developed around five key areas:

• Leadership confidence and promoting manufacturing

• Research Commercialisation

• Technology Development and Scaling

• Supply Chains and Re-shoring

• Investing in Scotland
