BioCity & MediCity Scotland

For life sciences start-ups and scale-ups, BioCity Scotland flexible and modular lab space, including Class 1 and 2, GCP and GMP life science labs with fully extracted and recirculating fume hoods. Located between Glasgow and Edinburgh, the flexible and modular chemistry and biology lab space at BioCity was built to an exceptionally high specification by previous owner, Organon Laboratories, with tailored bench space, extra-large laboratories and grow on space for companies at all stages.

BioCity also runs their flagship BioCity Accelerator Programme, a business accelerator programme specifically for life science entrepreneurs, based upon the ‘Lean Start-Up’ methodology and evidence-based entrepreneurship.  The BioCity Business Accelerator Programme works with entrepreneurs at every stage from idea to exit to help businesses launch, grow and scale.

For companies commercialising research and innovation in MedTech, Digital Health, Healthcare and wellness, MediCity Scotland is based on the same site as BioCity Scotland and provides office space in a supportive environment with like-minded people.

ONE Life Sciences Aberdeen

In addition to developing incubator space at the new Aberdeen BioHub, ONE supports life sciences businesses, academics, researchers and clinicians, people with ideas and life sciences entrepreneurs through commercialisation workshops and accelerator programmes to turn new ideas into valuable business propositions and quarterly life sciences network events that provide business-critical insights shared experiences and facilitate new collaborations between academics, health professionals and industry.

Roslin Innovation Centre Edinburgh

With a focus on livestock improvement, food security and One Health biology, The Roslin Innovation Centre brings together associated industry sectors to nurture innovation, collaboration and growth. The location of the Roslin Innovation Centre at the heart of the University of Edinburgh’s Easter Bush Campus connects businesses, academics, clinicians, and government agencies allowing companies to locate at the heart of the science and clinical livestock expertise. 

Roslin Innovation Centre is also host to the Food & Agriculture Science Transformer (FAST) programme, a collaboration between Deep Science Ventures and The University of Edinburgh.  The FAST programme is open to early career researchers with interest in science entrepreneurship and people with expertise in agricultural technologies.

Pathfinder Accelerator Inverness

The co-working space NEXUS on Inverness Campus offers life sciences and technology companies a location to innovate, collaborate and grow. The flexible office and lab space provides the opportunity to work alongside like-minded businesses, have access to research and academic partners, and close proximity to the NHS.

Alongside  NEXUS, the Pathfinder Accelerator Programme supports life sciences and technology companies across the Highlands on their journeys from product development to launch and scaling. Tailored coaching support is available to both start-ups and growing businesses.
