The £150k prize fund: Scottish EDGE Round 14 opens today

The 14th round of the Scottish EDGE competition opens today for applications.  Scottish EDGE identifies and supports the nation’s most innovative, high growth potential entrepreneurs and Round 14 includes the special Higgs award for science, technology and engineering focused businesses – a prize fund of £150,000.

Applications will be taken until March 4th – that’s just 5 weeks away.

Previous big winners from our sector include Holly Butler and Mark Hegarty of ClinSpec Diagnostics who are developing fast, sensitive blood tests for early detection of cancer, Kate Cameron, founder of Scottish start-up Cytochoma and Dr Brian Miller and Dr Monika Tomecka of uFraction8.  In the last round a total of 24 companies won up to six figure shares of the £2 million funding pot.  Prizes are given as a 40% grant and a 60% loan and the loan is paid back in a way that helps entrepreneurs on their pathway to success.

You can apply via the Scottish EDGE website where you can also download a brochure with more details and a sample application form.
