ClinSpex DX – Triage ID system installed at Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital

The ClinSpec Dx – Triage ID system has now been installed at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh and is currently recruiting prospective patients for a clinical feasibility study, alongside the Wellcome Trust. Patients with a suspected brain tumour will be recruited for their simple blood test, and a rapid result with be provided to clinicians to aid their treatment decision. This study is in advance of their upcoming clinical trial due to begin in late 2018. It marks a significant step for the translation of the technology which may soon help detect brain tumours more rapidly than the current diagnostic pathway.
