Express Your Interest in Informing Scotland’s Life Sciences Strategy – Half Day Workshops

Date and Time

19th Jun 2025 | 13:30 - 16:30

Location

Edinburgh

Life Sciences is a key growth cluster for Scotland, which includes Healthtech, Digital Health, Pharma & Pharma Services and the 3A sector ( Aquaculture, Agritec & Animal Health).  The last Scottish Life Sciences strategy, penned in 2017, has served us well and set a target for us of £8 billion by 2025.

We have exceeded that target by several billions but now isn’t the time for complacency, it’s the time to build on this growth by setting out a new refreshed strategy.

The new strategy will take us from 2025 to 2035 and will include our aspirational growth target of 25 by 35, that is to say £25 billion from Life Sciences into the Scottish economy by 2035.

The first version of the new strategy has been created by the Life Science Industrial Leadership Group and will reflect the themes of both the upcoming UK Industrial strategy and UK Life Sciences Strategy.

It’s now time to have a conversation with stakeholders to collect feedback, gain input, add & subtract based on the current draft.  To help us do this, we are hosting 2 in-person, half-day workshops in Glasgow and Aberdeen in June.

The workshops are supported by DHI, Scottish Enterprise, and Opportunity North East (ONE), and give a real opportunity to influence & inform the content and ensure that our journey to 25 by 35 is fast and smooth.  If you are interested in attending can you complete the Expression of Interest form: https://www.dhi-scotland.com/strategic-industry-form.  As there are approximately 30 spaces available in each venue, we will get back to you quickly with a formal invite to attend to confirm your place and ensure there is a spread of different interests and perspectives.
