SULSA Undergraduate Industry Placement Scheme
- 10 March 2010
Funding is now available for companies to provide one-year industry work placements to life sciences students at Scottish universities. Up to 20 part-funded placements are available to start in summer 2010.
The scheme, which is coordinated by the Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance (SULSA) and supported by a grant from the Scottish Funding Council's Horizon Fund aims to provide students with real life work experience and commercial lab skills that will improve their employment prospects.
The placements are full time for 12 months. Half of the student salary will be covered by the scheme (up to £7,500) and the other half by the company.
The scheme is open to undergraduate honours students between their 3rd and 4th years who are studying for biological or biomedical degrees at one of the SULSA universities (Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews or Strathclyde).
