Bioscience postgraduate funding boost for Scotland

Scotland's life sciences sector has received a major funding boost with news that the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council will invest over £10 million to support over 100 PhD students over 3 years.
Most of the money will go to the EastBio partnership, which will receive £7.2 million, to support 72 students. EastBio is a partnership involving:
- University of Aberdeen
- University of Dundee
- University of Edinburgh
- University of St Andrews
- Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance (Sulsa)
- the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (Supa)
The remaining £3 million will be awarded to another consortium formed by the universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow, supporting another 30 students.
